HAIKU COMPETITION

Rabbits & Moons

The full moon in January clearly brought the shine out in your poetry, and the Zen master was seriously taxed choosing the winner.  We share a few with you here:

On midsummer night
with multiple companions
the bunnies make love
by Adam

Through the flakes of snow
looking up the rabbit hole
the moon seems brighter

by Naomi Hawkes and Susan Elworthy

Lovely white moonlight,
but something really bugs me -
it shows my grey hares

by Jack Wheeler

Sushi by moonlight:
The rabbit must be hungry
Chasing after stars
by Andrew

The winter moon
Tranfixes the rabbit
Dreaming of summer grass
by Alison Moy

Young rabbits jump to escape doom
How high they go
To the moon

Enlightenment may be reached by all
For the moon has lit the way
Now the rabbits enter....

by Dina Pozz

Moshi ‘kagami’
Moon shaped cakes. Delicious
Toast new year rabbit
by Eryl Hardman

Rabbits have their own
‘Mochitsuki’ on the moon
Held on New Year’s Eve

Little white rabbit
On the sushi conveyor
That goes to the moon

Little brown rabbit
Soaking, soaking moonlit rice
In time for New Year

Little grey rabbit
He strikes, strikes, strikes the rice
In a huge Usu

Little black rabbit
With a parcel on his back
Full of fresh mochi

Down to earth, they move
Down the long conveyor belt
To Moshi Moshi

Happy New Year…
