There are a lot of exciting dishes on this year’s spring menu, but none more so than our Wild Alaskan Salmon, which our customers will find in our hot mains section of the menu. The reason why we’re so excited is the symbol we’ve been able to put next to it. This is the Marine Stewardship Council’s accreditation, and to date there are only five restaurants in the whole of the United Kingdom that are allowed to use it.

MSC is recognised as the foremost organisation assessing marine sustainability in the world. To be allowed to use their mark, Moshi Moshi has to submit to stringent auditing from the MSC to ensure that our Wild Salmon is exclusively supplied from sustainable sources, and is the result of years of work.

Although unfortunately unavailable at Canary Wharf, we thought you’d be interested to know that Moshi Moshi has joined a select group of five restaurants in the UK which is now serving Marine Stewardship Council accredited fish.

To celebrate this achievement, we’ll be offering our Brighton and Liverpool St members a complimentary glass of Breaky Bottom wine when they order this dish. Breaky Bottom, which is produced just down the road from where the owners of Moshi Moshi grew up in the Sussex Downs, is not usually available by the glass.

You might have seen the press coverage on the comments we made in Tokyo on the plight of blue fin tuna on the BBC News and in The Times. If you would like to read the article (“Britain’s sushi craving puts Japan’s fish stocks under strain”) in the Times, please click here
